About the partnership

Staple Crops

The goal of this partnership is to increase the productivity of rice farmers that are part of Siguida Yeelen, with the purpose of increasing average yield of rice per hectare of its members from 1.2 tons / ha to 2.40 tons / ha , to have an annual production of 30,000 tons of paddy rice suitable for industrial husking by 2023, of which 70% will be sold to industrial rice husking units (GDCM, GMM) and to the women parboilers of Konodimini. To improve the availability of quality (parboiled) rice to BoP consumers and to strengthen their economic positions, 2SCALE will also work with the women parboilers to improve processing practices, and strengthen their marketing capacity towards low income consumers.
