About the partnership

Burkina Faso
Staple Crops
Status:
Active

The cassava value chain has high potential in Burkina Faso, but the segments are still fragmented. This partnership aims to fill in the gaps and structure it. Business champion Nanalim wants to produce dehydrated attiéké at a large scale, and increase the direct sales of the product to low-income consumers (BoP) markets. The company will also develop a decentralized distribution model that will create jobs for youth and women. To have access to good quality raw material, local small-scale cassava processors will be actively engaged to sustain a steady supply of semi-processed cassava to Nanalim.

About the business champion
Nanalim is a locally registered company that processes semi-processed cassava into fresh and dehydrated attiéké, a local staple consumed widely, and is marketed under the brand name Nanatieke. The ambition of its owner, Sabine Nana, is to improve the organization of the attiéké value chain for a better inclusion of smallholder farmers and women processors of local cassava in order to limit the import of semi-processed cassava from neighbouring countries.
