The central aspiration of this partnership is to set up a sustainable and consistent Teff value chain by improving the aggregation capacity and market linkage of Teff. The business champion-Kesem union- aims to improve productivity and income of smallholder Teff farmers and avail teff to Base of pyramid consumers. In addition, the partnership aims to train and coach youth and women to tap opportunities in Teff production.

About the business champion

Kesem union is a grassroots champion of the partnership with central aspiration of improving the aggregation capacity and market linkage of Teff. It aims to improve productivity and income of 20, 000 smallholder Teff farmers; avail teff for 10,000 low-income consumers; engage 30 MSMEs in the processing of Teff; create 50 additional jobs and improve the competitiveness of the union and member primary cooperatives.
