About the partnership

Uganda Crane Creameries Cooperative Union is a large cooperative seeking to expand and diversify its range of dairy products. The partnership aims to establish linkages with a wide network of district unions, dairy societies and smallholder dairy farmers. The focus is to develop sustainable business models to increase the supply of quality milk, enabling UCCCU to process 250,000 liters of milk per day.Uganda Crane Creameries Cooperative Union is a large cooperative seeking to expand and diversify its range of dairy products. Achievementss
Mobilize dairy farmers to form primary dairy cooperatives to improve production and collective marketing
Establish UCCU’s milk processing factory, producing pasteurized milk, yoghurt, cream, ghee and UHT milk
Develop affordable financial products for dairy farmers, including livestock insurance
Provide technical support on feed/fodder production, breeding, animal health and milking hygiene
Targets
Involve 18,000 smallholder farmers (5,400 women) and 140 small and medium enterprises.

Pasteurized milk, yoghurt and UHT milk for BoP markets, both households and schools (through a school milk feeding program).
