About the partnership

Uganda Crane Creameries Cooperative Union is a large cooperative seeking to expand and diversify its range of dairy products. The partnership aims to establish linkages with a wide network of district unions, dairy societies and smallholder dairy farmers. Achievementss

Mobilize dairy farmers to form primary dairy cooperatives to improve production and collective marketing

Establish UCCU’s milk processing factory, producing pasteurized milk, yoghurt, cream, ghee and UHT milk

Develop affordable financial products for dairy farmers, including livestock insurance

Provide technical support on feed/fodder production, breeding, animal health and milking hygiene

Targets

Involve 18,000 smallholder farmers (5,400 women) and 140 small and medium enterprises.
