The three cooperative unions, Meki Batu Fruits and Vegetable Growers Cooperative Union (FVGCU), Liben and Robi Berga Farmers’ Cooperative Union (FCU), are operating in Oromia regional state and support farmers in more than 10 districts. Under this partnership 2SCALE supports the sustainable development of horticultural clusters considering knowledge based use of irrigation water, application of fertilizer based on nutrient requirement of the soil and wise use of rotational crop rotation to tackle disease and pest prevalence due to mono cropping in the area. The unions also want to improve their marketing strategies, for local markets and in the region for their products.
