In Mali, Sikasso is the major center for Irish potato farming. Two main bottlenecks hamper the value chain: access to credit for production and commercialization, and post-harvest management/ storage. Insufficient coordination among actors also contributes to important losses during the peak season, and to the dearth of potato off-season. The goal of the partnership is to level the commercialization cycles and thus increase the competitiveness of Malian potato suppliers in Mali and the region.
