About the partnership

Niger
Animal Production Related
Status:
Active

The demand for poultry meat, whether locally produced or imported, is strongly growing in Niger, and is catalyzing the establishment and development of (semi-) industrial poultry production. However, local production of poultry still covers less than 30% of the consumer demand, leaving a void filled by imports of broiler meat (mostly from Europe and Asia). One of the companies that drives the local production of poultry is NUSEB Integrated Poultry Farm, a private Nigerien company specializing in the production and marketing of poultry products. NUSEB wants to partner with 2SCALE and other relevant stakeholders to transform the poultry value chain and realize the inclusive business potential the sector has through increased and and improved local production of poultry. The goal is to sustainably transform the Nigerien poultry sector by 2023 and to provide BoP consumers with healthy and affordable local poultry products.

About the business champion

The company specializes in the production and marketing of poultry products: broiler chicken and derivatives (legs, chicken breast, gizzards, liver, etc.), fresh eggs and poultry feed. The general objective of the NUSEB poultry farm is to contribute to the achievement of food and nutritional self-sufficiency in Niger and to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Nigerien population.
