About the partnership

Niger
Soy and Oil Seeds

The idea behind this partnership is to reactivate the groundnut sector by increasing the productivity and quality of products, as well as the inclusion of rural women and youth. One of the interventions will focus on establishing a financial mechanism between farmers and the business champion AINOMA, which will allow farmers to pay for inputs through microfinance institutions to produce and then sell to AINOMA. They also aim to increase the production and sales of quality groundnuts with minimal levels of aflatoxin to strengthen the position of groundnut producer communities in the region.

About the business champion

AINOMA is a company for the production, trading and distribution of improved and hybrid seeds. Run by Nasser Aichatou Salifou and located in the department of Say, the seed company produces improved varieties of cereal and vegetables seeds. AINOMA has a network of more than 3,500 multipliers including 3,220 women with a very high rate of youth in the regions of Niamey, Tillabéry, Dosso, Tahoua and Maradi. With an annual production average of one thousand (1,000) tons of seeds, AINOMA is one of the largest suppliers of improved seeds in Niger. As an additional business activity, and at the core of this partnership, AINOMA seeks to supply groundnuts to one of the largest food processing companies in Niger, Société de Transformation d'Alimentaire (STA).
